| A graduate from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, this guy is one of NU's biggest claim-to-fames, (considering David Schwimmer's career has been falling as fast as Friends ratings). Marshall is best known as the mastermind behind classic TV hit series such as The Odd Couple, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy, and Laverne and Shirley (which starred his sister, Penny Marshall). In recent years, his film directing credits have been less consistent in quality and box office bang. Such credits include Pretty Woman (1990), Beaches (1988), Exit to Eden (1994), and Dear God (1996). His newest release, Runaway Bride, matches Richard Gere and Julia Roberts for the first time since Pretty Woman, and also features another Chicagoan, Joan Cusack.
