Cindy Crawford

Born on February 20, 1966 in DeKalb, Illinois, this Model gone actress attended Northwestern University (as an engineering major, I believe) with her younger sister, before leaving for a lucrative career in the modeling industry. In 1987 she made an uncredited appearance in The Secret of My Success, and from 1989-1995 she hosted MTV's popular "House of Style" TV series. She's been several feature films, including Catwalk, and Fair Game, as well as the documentaries Unzipped and Beautopia. She has also appeared on TV shows including "Ellen," "3rd Rock from the Sun," "Frasier," "Muppets," and "Saturday Night Live," as well as guest hosting Regis & Kathie Lee and Later. Oh, she's also appeared on over 400 magazine covers.

Born and raised in DeKalb, Illinois, Cindy was chosen as one of the finalists in Elite Model Management's 1983 Look of the Year competition. In the years since then, she has been extraordinarily successful as a model. She is the author of make-up workbook Cindy Crawford's Basic Face (Broadway Books), and the producer of two successful workout videos, Cindy Crawford/Shape Your Body and The Next Challenge.

She is an energetic supporter of the Leukemia Society of America -- her brother died at age 4 from the blood disorder.
