| New Steppenwolf Theatre Company member (since 1997) played Eunice in the STC's production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Mary in The Memory of Water and Dr. Bernadette Jump Cannon in Space, in addition to appearing in The Cryptogram, Slavs!, The Geography of Luck, A Lie of the Mind, and You Can't Take It With You. She has also worked with Victory Gardens (Flyovers), the Goodman Theatre, Wisdom Bridge, and Remains Theatre Company (over 20 productions). In the film world, her credits include Backdraft, Straight Talk, Falling Down, and Rookie of the Year. In choosing her as "Best Actress" in their 1999 "Best of Chicago" issue, Chicago Magazine says "Amy Morton doesn't have a classically beautiful face, but a face beautiful in its honesty. Here is an actress who will neither fake an emotion nor refuse to confront one." She recently appeared in 8 mm.
