Commedia Dell Arte. What could possibly be interesting or relevant about a centuries-old form of Italian improv? Centerstage has no idea, but we know this: it's hilarious. Chicago Dell Arte's last show, performed under the auspices of Promethean Theatre, was a slightly dirty, extremely anachronistic, Looney Tunes romp featuring circa-1500 stock characters in updated situations. We don't know what "Murder Murder Murder!" is about, but as long as Mark Soloff returns as the malapropism-spewing Dottore, we'll watch. (Note: performances alternate between City Lit theater and The Spot, which makes this centuries-old Italian bar-prov. Unmissable!)
