If mention of a teahouse in Chinatown conjures up images of an apothecary cabinet filled with jars of loose-leaf tea in a dimly lit interior, you’re behind the times. Saint’s Alp Teahouse has over 40 locations in Malaysia and the United States, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite hangout for hip twentysomethings in Chicago’s Chinatown. There is nothing not to like about the playful illustrations, fresh bright colors, free wi-fi and affordable yummy drinks that you can’t find anywhere else in the city.
Sip on boba teas (both hot and cold bubble teas), berry lattes or passion fruit green tea...the list of delicious combinations goes on and on (most run $2.50 to $3.50). If that's not enough, there's also a complete food menu with fresh and colorful creations fit to satisfy anyone in this part of town. Entrees ($5.50-$8.25) range from stir-fried vegetables in garlic sauce to beef tenderloin in black pepper sauce to specials like Saint's Alp fried rice.
