The name truly says it all for this contemporary sushi spot. Rollapalooza's entire menu is devoted to every type of roll imaginable. Choose from spicy rolls, fried rolls, hand rolls and veggie rolls or try all four in one of the restaurant's combination sets. Prices range from $2 to $35 and each single order comes with eight decently-sized pieces, a complimentary dish of edamame and a steamy bowl of miso soup, poured straight from the cauldron and topped with fresh chives.
The selection of sushi may be extensive, but most of the options are pretty Americanized. Fortunately, Rollapalooza's lackluster list works with the majority of its clientele. There are a few innovative dishes though, like the restaurant's signature Rollapalooza roll with avocado, cucumber, spicy crab, cream cheese, salmon, tuna, octopus, onion, radish sprouts and spicy sauce (it's the ideal choice for indecisive types). The restaurant also offers daily specials and the chefs have been known to create a few off-the-menu concoctions. Another item you won't find on the menu—and one that would be a shame to skip—is the restaurant's seaweed salad, toped with fresh slices of lemon, cucumber and a slightly sweet sesame sauce.
Rollapalooza's interior is cool and contemporary with its vibrantly painted orange walls and stenciled brown trees. Sleek orange chandeliers hang from a high ceiling and provide the kind of dim lighting that makes everybody look good. The small space comfortably seats about 20 at its high-top tables, while the sushi bar makes room for an additional 10.
