If your concerns consist of getting a tasty cheese steak, Italian beef sandwich, pizza or even a salad on the cheap, plan on making this parliament of grease your humble abode.
Enter Philly's Best and you'll find a gallery of pictures showcasing the sure-to-be greasylicious dishes adorning one of the restaurant's brick walls. Distinguished items include the Grinder, a baked submarine filled with meats, cheeses and vegetables that's stone-oven "baked until crisp and golden brown." Order at the counter and you'll find yourself mingling with the eclectic Belmont crowd. Or if mingling with people isn't your thing, check out the multi-colored tiling on the floor or the many accolades that Philly's Best has earned from the likes of Channel 2 News.
While the pick-up area at the opposite end of the restaurant can be confusing, it keeps the order counter flowing. The bathroom is harder to get into than Fort Knox; you need your proof of receipt and an ID in order to enter the stalls.
While it might be a stretch to call this place Philly's "best," you've found yourself a fine late-night bite.
