This mom and pop sandwich certainly holds its own against corporate competitors like Subway and Quiznos. Sharing a measly corner space with My Pie pizzeria, this stop-and-go, or call-and-receive features a rotating roster of daily soups, from shrimp and sweet potato chowder to New England clam chowder to French Onion soup. That's just a starter.
Li'l Guys main source of pride comes from its well-rounded selection of "Grand Daddy" sandwiches. Listed under endearing names like "The Turkanator," turkey on French bread with all the accoutrements; "Beefaholic," a quarter-pound of home-cooked roast beef on a sub roll; and "Chuckie's Delight," albacore tuna on whole wheat; the "Classics" cost between $6-$8. If you're willing to venture beyond the norm, the baked Grand Daddys and Contemporary Grand Daddys won't cost you any more. Between the sauerkraut and corned beef on rye loaded "Ruebenesque," the ham, salami, pepperoni and provolone stuffed "Porker" and the pesto turkey, you'll be getting your sandwich fix any way you slice it. And if you're just in the mood for a snack or a mix and match, try the mini-sandwiches: baby buns stuffed with your choice of filling.
Pack a punch at the end of your meal with Chef Richie's Chocolate Insanity: flourless chocolate cake with chocolate truffle filling and white chocolate drizzle, coated in chocolate ganache; it feeds two to four. Who you callin' a li'l guy?
