Talk about a grand slam. Letizia’s Natural Bakery has upped its ante to include every environment that a city dweller could desire. The old favorites have been preserved at this homey coffeeshop. You can still grab a seat on the extra-wide stretch of sidewalk along Division, in the enclosed back patio area, or dangerously close to the lengthy counter, which serves up soups, salads, paninis, build-your-own pizza and rich desserts. Those looking for something stronger than a cuppa joe will find themselves well cared for, thanks to the recent addition of a wine bar.
Fulfilling my hazy dreams of finding a Euro coffeeshop on this side of the Atlantic, patrons can now opt to head down the hallway to the left into an environment that trades honey-colored wood and Scrabble for exposed brick and a lengthy bar. In addition to a roster of heavy-hitting reds and whites, a wide range of beers (including $2.25 Old Style cans, PBR, Hacker Pschorr Weiss, Woodchuck Cider and Stella Artois) and cocktails (such as the Letizia's Vanilla Coke, a $5 blend of Stoli Vanil and Coke) are offered.
