Focusing on takeout, Hong Kong Delight is cheap and has a huge delivery range (the eatery will bring its beef wontons or cashew chicken anywhere ranging from 26th Street to Kedzie Avenue or Lake Shore Drive to Damen Avenue). Or you can pick up tasty take-out standards like egg drop soup and egg rolls (which are available without meat for vegetarians) as well as slightly more unusual fare, like Hawaiian fried rice, made with pineapple and chicken, and B.B.Q. Pork with noodles.
The extensive menu features beef, chicken, shrimp and noodle dishes, as well as more than a half-dozen hot-and-spicy dishes. Hong Kong Delight's $6.55 combo deals are some of the best deals to be had, including shrimp lo mein and orange chicken, all of which feature the choice of three sides, including crab rangoon, broccoli or soda. Lunch specials, which include garlic chicken and pepper steak, are also a good deal; most are under $5, with the option to add an egg roll for $.75. And, for the thirsty, Hong Kong Delight offers smoothies in more than 15 flavors, including strawberry, avocado coconut and green tea.
