The food at Fiesta Mexicana is far from gourmet: The vegetables taste a tad bland, the cheese isn't quite fresh, the beans are slightly watery and the salsa is just average. But when you throw it all together, it tastes pretty damn good. We call it "Mexican comfort food."

Scroll down the menu to the section entitled Antojitos Mexicanos (Old Mexican favorites), where you'll find all the standard tacos, burritos and enchiladas. Pair your order with ceviche as an appetizer, or up the ante on your entrée and go for the guachinangos (whole red snappers priced at $16.95). A daytime trip here also a great lunch choice, with lunch specials priced around $6 and just as tasty as the dinner fare.

In addition to the tummy-warming dishes, the allure of this spot may have something to do with the festive ambiance. Colorful decorations and plastic tables and booths clutter the room, and on Tuesday and Friday, when the resident guitarist takes a break, margarita-induced karaoke provides a rowdy soundtrack. And oh, those margaritas. Dangerously priced at $5, the fruity drink will have any legal diner doing a spicy salsa in no time.
