You know you're in for a treat the minute you walk through Fabi's door. At first glance, the place appears to be nothing more than a tiny dining room with painted tile-topped tables and upbeat Mexican tunes streaming from an old jukebox. Walk through the second entrance though and you're immediately transported to a true fiesta of a restaurant. The bar alone, decked out like a mini tiki hut, is a party in itself with its massive margaritas, fruity coladas and spiked Mexican coffee offerings.
A flat screen slung above the back wall shows Mexican soccer games and an adjacent fish aquarium offers a bit of calm. Seascape murals outlined with bricks evoke the tropics, along with intense margarita cravings. Fabi's menu has all the good stuff: tacos, burritos, flautas, fajitas. The restaurant also offers breakfast, but limits the morning selection to only six dishes (mostly eggs and your choice of meat), all served with rice, refried beans and tortillas. And while Fabi's claims to serve both Mexican and American cuisine, the only Western plates you'll find here are those stacked with chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks. Both of which not only feel out of context, but are no competition for the restaurant's main fare.
