| A former music critic and arts editor of the Chicago Tribune, Willis is currently the Associate Professor of Musicology in Northwestern University's School of Music and the Executive Assistant to the Dean. He has edited Musical America and contributed to the New Grove Dictionary of American Music and Musicians.
