The Electric Shoes

When they were small and everything seemed big, it was the Wonder Years television show that gave them their first glimpse of history– when super 8 video cameras and old-fashioned garage bands reigned supreme. In one episode Kevin and Paul start a band called the electric shoes to combat boredom with rock.

Many years later a group of four college guys in Chicago started dancing to a pop song on the radio and decided to form a band like the one they wanted to be in as a kids. The electric shoes were born again. They have been told they sound like the Beatles and Weezer. People love singing their catchy melodies.

Pop music makes the city and the sky come alive for these guys, putting pep in a step that might otherwise be cold. The sound came together throughout the spring of 2006 and they recorded an EP in August 2006. They play happy day music and are currently scheduled for seven shows in the spring around Chicago, including the Subterranean on April 17th. These shoes be jumping.
