A versatile chamber music ensemble, the Rembrandt Chamber Players provide a casual concert atmosphere which brings audience and performers together, with a chance to mingle before and after the concerts, exchanging thoughts and insights. "Few of Chicago's myriad chamber music ensembles", says the Chicago Tribune, "can match the deftly blended programs of the Rembrandt Chamber players ... all of it played with zest and a glossy finish." The Sun-Times agrees, saying "The Rembrandt Chamber Players . . . manages to make the ideal reality." The Pioneer Press also raves: "The Rembrandt Chamber Players takes us to the very heart of the music, where passion and serenity alternately bewitch and console us."
The ensemble programs a wide range of chamber music from the Baroque to the contemporary, with special emphasis on American composers, and produces and performs its own series of subscription concerts. The members of the ensemble are: Sandra Morgan, flute, Robert Morgan, oboe, J. Lawrie Bloom, clarinet, David Schrader, harpsichord, Keith Conant, viola, Barbara Haffner, cello and Collins Trier, bass. Subscription concerts are held at the Music Institute of Chicago in Evanston and the Lyon and Healy Hall in Chicago.
