Eric Davis

Son of influential Maxwell Street stick man, Bobby Davis, Eric followed in his pop's footsteps through his adolescence; providing occasional beats for Jr. Wells, Lefty Dizz and B.B. King before Buddy Guy stepped into the Checkerboard Lounge one evening and advised the young blues-heart, that if he wanted to “get all the girls,” he’d have to play guitar.

Thus, for the next 30+ years, Davis careened through stage after stage of rock-worthy guitar aggression, starting his own band The Troublemakers to support him. Despite a career spanning three decades, he didn't cut his firtst record until 2007. Here Comes Trouble, earned him "Best New Regional Act" honors for the year.

As one of the younger guitarists on the circuit, Davis launched the Young Blues imprint to showcase “21st century blues at its finest,” while setting aside enough time to pursue another record of his own, ‘08’s Wait Yo Turn, touring all over the Midwest this summer to support it. (Gavin Paul)
