| Ex-Chicagoan Bill Traut is the manager of a number of Chicagoans including Kurt Elling, Part Wertico, Steve Rodby, Fred Simon and Laurence Hobgood as well as others. While in the city (1960-1977), he was a leading rock producer on his two labels: Dunwich (Shadows of Knight's "Gloria" and many other "garage" rock bands of the '60s) and Wooden Nickel (Styx, Siegel-Schwall Blues Band, during the '70s). Traut also managed then-Chicagoans The Impressions, whom he continued to represent until 1996, and Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, who's still a buddy. Since moving to L.A., he's focused on jazz and put together a formidable stable of clients.
