What to expect: This celebration of German heritage will feature live music, brats, beer, children's activities, a raffle and more.

Why to go: The annual Wiener Dog Races (there are three heats, plus a championship race) should be good for a lugh.

Additional info: This event goes down at the Eastside Riverfront, between Highway 20 and the Galena Train Depot, off of Park Avenue. Music will be provided by the Jim Busta Band from noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m., and the Goodtime Dutchmen from 3-7 p.m. There will also be polka lessons throughout the day.
