This late night hook-up has a decidedly post-collegiate frat boy feel, rounded out by 10 shots of Don Julio and topped off with an ass-kicking at billiards by Tai himself, or possibly his son. The back room is a sweatbox dance floor with DJs pumping an array of expected dance numbers that make it more palatable to be shoved up against dudes in tight tee shirts.
It's filled mostly with Lakeview's 20- and 30-somethings who have enough money to blow through several other bars, before topping the night off at Tai's. It's a hook-up bar, so someone will probably try to buy you a drink, especially if you sport your Cubs hat.
The pool table is nothing to write home about, and the dartboard is adequate. The packed bar makes lining up the Steve Mizerak rail-shots a bit difficult, not to mention the dart-in-the-eye-ratio a little higher than normal. But if this were a problem, all these people would have gone to the Ten Cat anyway. Besides, it's easier to score with the people on the dance floor than the ones holding pool cues.
