Most people probably don't drive too far to visit Q Billiards. It seems like most of the patrons at this neighborhood dive bar either live or work in town (many were probably even born and raised here). A lot of the people seem to know each other, but that's not to say there isn’t social diversity in Q's clientele. You'll find both young and old drinkers, and an internet jukebox that pumps out everything from Linkin Park to Phish.
Q is the kind of place where people congregate after work and where college kids meet when they come home for the weekend. It's also a bar for people who like to stay active when they booze. In addition to about 20 pool tables, Q has darts, arcade games, foosball, beanbag tournaments, the occasional live band and TVs everywhere tuned to sports. For those who aren't pool sharks, the cheap beer and drinks are the main attraction. The restaurant serves the typical greasy bar food.
Located in a dingy strip mall, Q is a big draw on the weekends, so nearby parking spots are hard to come by (you'll get one, but you may have to walk across the strip mall lot). It used to be a hangout saturated in cigarette smoke. Thanks to the statewide smoking ban, you can now see clearly from one side of the large wide-open bar to the other. But Q remains a relatively smoker-friendly spot. In cold weather, the bar accommodates its puffers with large heaters and an ashtray outside on the sidewalk.
