On the corner of North and Paulina sits Louie's Pub, the kind of neighborhood bar that is ready to serve up drinks at noon every day of the week. Known by locals as a convenient and affordable alternative to many of the bars along North Avenue, Louie's is perhaps more widely considered a key karaoke destination for those who aren't shy with a microphone (local or not).
Karaoke sessions are held six nights a week and they crowd up quickly, so don't expect to sing everything you have your heart set on. Arcade games, darts and pool complete the bar activities if you'd rather not display your vocal stylings. Plus, when the karaoke machine isn't blasting out electronic versions of your once favorite acoustic song, the corner jukebox still allows you some musical freedom.
Mixed drinks and beers on tap abound, and while a Miller Lite draft may be just your thing, there are also specialty cocktails like the chocolate raspberry martini if you're not the average beer type.
