Stepping through the screen door at Joe's is enough to make you feel at home. The sentiment extends throughout the bar with its kitschy bric-a-brac, ancient television sets and vintage photos.
And then there's the crowd of regulars, who, rather than shunning outsiders, greet them with warm reception. Next to its inviting staff and friendly patrons, the best thing about Joe's is the cheap domestic brews and six-pack carry-outs.
You'll be hard pressed to find a place this charmingly divey as close to Wrigley Field as Joe's is. But it's one of the few pubs that keep all its kitsch and loyal clientele intact, despite its bustling Cub-crazed location.
