Go on the hunt at Hunters Nightclub, perhaps the only prominently-known gay bar outside of the city. Except for the main room, which looks like a downtown Boystown bar with video screens and dance floors aplenty, Hunter's is ambiguously decorated like somebody's basement... the rec room of a nice suburban house that's been redone for entertaining. But given the packed crowds this place sees every weekend (parking gets tricky in the lot), the 99-percent male patrons don't seem to mind. Clientele wears everything from leather to polos... it is, after all, located near housing divisions and supermarkets (and a gigantic forest).
The music, loud techno funk, is good for dancing, and the space, while spread out, is conducive for chatting. Oh, and Hunters Hunks (aka male dancers) take the stage at 10 p.m. on Thursdays for even more fun. All in all, Hunters mixes a little suburbia into Saturday night and comes out with a pretty fun dance spot.
