Sparty on at this neighborhood bar and grill which cherishes all things Michigan State, and is quickly rivaling the best of Chicago's burger joints. And it's doing so with its signature butter-style patties. The meat-fueled menu boasts over 10 takes on Angus beef, each served on Grand River's popular toasted buttered (yes, more butter) buns and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and cheese.

Try Grand River's namesake burger, layered with a fried egg, crispy bacon and grilled onion, $9.95. Bacon makes another appearance in the Breslin Center (one of the many MSU references on the menu), a double burger layered with sauteed mushrooms and grilled onions. The crispy treat shows face again in the Rocky, loaded with nothin' but crispy smoked bacon. Come to think of it, you'll be hard pressed to find a burger on the list that doesn't fall back on America's favorite salty treat.

The bacon-stacked burgers alone are reason enough to pay a visit, but the real draw for most Grand River regulars is the bar's affinity for all things MSU. Beginning with its name (Grand River is MSU's main drag) and ending with constant coverage of the Spartans, it's easy to feel like you're right around the corner from campus. Even the burger menu boasts a little something called the Spartan, stacked with crispy bacon and barbecue sauce, $8.95.

Drinks are reasonably priced, including beer in 12 different draughts and 30 bottles, as well as specials every day. But be honest, you'd drink just about anything if it meant a victory for MSU.
