Consider any Holiday Inn bar you may have been to. You're probably not picturing a destination spot, are ya? Well, Cityscape Bar, located just off the 15th floor lobby of the Holiday Inn in River North, is a destination for one simple reason: the view. Situated beside the Chicago River, the upscale bar boasts a nearly unmatched view of the skyline, from the Hancock Center to the Sears Tower.

As the river curves through the city below, you can sample one of the organic beers ($6), like Peak Organic Nut Brown Ale or Mothership Whit Organic. Specialty martinis are $9, from the Snicker-tini with mini Snickers bars to the Root Beer Float martini, a mixture of root beer candy, root beer schnapps, Godiva chocolate liqueur and Absolut. If that's not enough, go with the Gran Patron Platinum margarita. For $45 you'll get a mixture of Gran Patron Platinum tequila, Patron Citronge liqueur, 150 Year Grand Marnier Cent Cinquantenaire and fresh lime juice. You tell me if it's worth it. Appetizers range from $8-14, including mini angus beef burgers ($10), crab cakes ($14) and beef carpaccio ($14).

Regardless of food or martini flavor, the reason to visit this bar, hotel guest or not, is the view, and that doesn't disappoint. Sit back with your drink and enjoy Chicago stretching out before you.
