Donned in many requisite flat-screens and bar-stool aplenty along a gallery-spacious corner of Lake Street's under-the-L warehouse row, Addiction may be in an odd locale for game time revelry. But the place makes up for it with college-town cheap specials every day of the week – i.e., $5 all-you-can-eat pasta on Tuesdays – and a bistro-worthy kitchen, highlighted by Neapolitan-style pies.
Soon to be stacked with a second floor, offering such amenities as a Wii lounge, themed martini nights and Green Line gazing, the bar windows being 20 feet from the tracks, Addiction is poised to add sports-themed diversity to Randolph Street's chic restaurant row.
In the interim, log those specials in the brain, though mostly aligned with the more pub grub side of the menu – 25-cent wings (Mon), $3.50 burgers with fries – Sunday champions an all-you-can drink Bloody Mary bar, with over 60 ingredients, for $8. And the pies, they can get expensive, some pushing $16. But with prosciutto, arugala and top-notch gorgonzola and fontina cheeses spread about, true 'addiction' awaits.
