If you ever find yourself cruising down desolate Ridge Avenue, hankering for a good, stiff spot of whiskey, this corner sports bar is the perfect pit stop.
Sure, you might be keeping company with some really regular barflies (read: a bit on the nutso side) but tossed into that mix are a slew of common folk. You know those fellas that love all sports and bellow at the suspended TVs; those elderly patrons who start in on the heavily-poured shots right at the stroke of noon; and the continually unemployed who just need a cold beer to take the edge off of reality.
The wrap-around-windows help out when you want to people watch – not that many troopers are shakin' a tail feather down Ridge Avenue, mind you. The bar is wide open, and you'll mostly be spying on locals as they cruise into the half-decent Mexican joint next door or the salon a bit further down. Those two neighboring businesses actually make the location pretty primo – who doesn't break down for a full Mexican shove-down and perhaps a sassy pedicure after quaffing a cool half-dozen drinks?
Friendly bartenders who sometimes buy you a drink make this 'hoodie bar a favorite all the way around; that, and the fact that they open at noon. More often than not, noon is our 5:30 p.m. happy hour. Who says unemployment sucks?
