While the rest of Chicago is Irish once a year, Keegan's is one of many bars in Beverly that proudly flies the flag of the South Side Irish all year long. This bar, a testament to the beauty of properly crafted oak, separates itself from its neighbor the Cork & Kerry with its in-the-round bar, allowing bartenders to work their way around the room taking orders. The wood-paneled walls are littered with trinkets, photographs of the famous (drunken?) authors of Ireland and Irish Revolution heroes, and classic beer advertisements touting the merits of drinking Harp and Guinness. Indeed, you'll find both of those beers on tap at Keegan's. They pour the best pint of Guinness in the city, and probably any place outside of the Emerald Isle.

The customers at Keegan's are as sturdy and spirited as the bar itself. A crowd comprised almost exclusively of locals fills the bar on a daily basis to cheer on the White Sox, Bears and favorite soccer and rugby teams. The jukebox is loaded with classic rock tracks, Irish folk music and the customary assortment of Van Morrison. Thursdays at Keegan's are notable for live Irish folk music.
