This free West Town Gallery functions as both a showroom and artist Bill Gross' living space, so expect exhibit pieces to mingle with kitchen appliances in this small, stark white studio.

Gross strives to showcase cutting-edge contemporary creations by unexposed local and national artists "who explore the notion of effort and artistic craftsmanship." Art school grads looking for their first solo show are acknowledged at 65Grand, along with older, under-the-radar artists.

Prepare yourself for an avant-garde media melange that begins with an installation in the olive-green-hued hallway leading to the gallery. Whether oil paintings, wood carvings, cardboard pizza discs, animal antlers or an intricate miniature casket made for a hamster, unconventional creations abound. Prices range from $200-$2500, and Gross offers up his home every other month for exhibitions, which include an opening reception.
