The position requires a regular commitment of about 20 hours per week around town and occasionally in our River North offices. Your work will involve a fair share of:

• coordinating and producing events;
• building and managing relationships with venues, sponsors, artists and talent;
• bringing Centerstage to the people and bringing the people to Centerstage;
• developintg publicity for Centerstage and contributing new ideas for our marketing strategies..

You should already be:

• fluent in the process of event production and promotions
• Comfortable working in a self-directed environment
• efficient in getting around town on your own
• streetwise & socially savvy,
• painfully responsible and disciplined,
• solid in your communication skills (phone & writing).

We're looking for experienced freelancers with a knack for the descriptive and a knowledge of the city. Strong voice, eye for detail, respect for deadlines, passion for a Chicago = musts.

While we accept resumes on a rolling basis, we are currently hiring writers to pen 250-word venue descriptions.
